Windsor Powder Magazine Historic Park

Parc historique de la poudrière de Windsor

Description

Founded in 1864, in the wake of the American Civil War, the Windsor Powder Magazine produced black powder, an essential component of explosives. Until 1922, the city of Windsor (Quebec) lived to the rhythm of this dangerous industry. We can now discover the secrets, how and why of this production via a permanent interactive exhibition. In summer, treat yourself to a theatrical guided tour of the remains of the buildings that made up the factory, as well as the immersive multisensory show. For nature lovers, the park also offers ecological discoveries and delights. Personalized welcome, souvenir shop and picnic area are also part of the services offered.
